NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Freshman linebacker Hector Lopez III (East Hanover, N.J.) was selected as the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Rookie of the Week, the league announced today. In addition, senior quarterback Jameil Lawrence (Jersey City, N.J.) and sophomore linebacker Damian Tavares (Pasco, Wash.) earned spots on the league's weekly Honor Roll.

Lopez recorded six tackles, all solo, in CU's 40-7 win over Molloy on Friday night. He also had two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble to help limit the Lions to a single score.

Lawrence completed seven of 11 passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns in about a half of play on Friday. He now has thrown for a school single-season record 10 touchdowns this year.

Tavares registered a game-high 11 tackles (10 solo), plus a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery in the game. He has jumped into fourth place in CU history in career tackles with 94.

Caldwell next hosts Army West Point on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Bonnel Field.
