Cougar Commitment to Excellence

Caldwell University has established a foundation for excellence in athletics. In recent years, the institution has demonstrated a commitment to building an athletic program that makes students, administration and alumni proud. This strong foundation supports 15 intercollegiate programs.

Despite the growth of the athletic department as well as the institution as a whole, Caldwell University maintains a special tradition - a tradition that emphasizes the personal approach to education and the proper balance between academics and athletics, with a 13-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. In addition, the coaching staff works closely with the student-athlete, academic advisors and Learning Center personnel to maintain an advisement and monitoring system for all its student athletes. Cooperation between these offices, along with the dedication of the entire faculty and staff, leads to the development of the total student-athlete.

Caldwell University teams participate as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division II (NCAA II). The Cougars are a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) as well as the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC). Women's bowling completes in the East Coast Conference (ECC), while sprint football is a member of the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL). Caldwell University wishes to maintain the highest possible standards for its student-athletes. Athletics do not replace academics, but combine with it to produce a well rounded individual - the overall goal of the Caldwell University student-athlete.
