Hector Lopez III ( has been named Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 1, the league announced today.
Lopez recorded a career-high and game-best 14 tackles, including two for loss in the Cougars' 20-13 win over Cornell on Friday. His fourth-quarter stop on third and six forced Cornell to punt leading 10-6. The Cougars then scored a go-ahead TD on next possession for their first lead of the game.
He is now second on the team with 47 tackles on the season, the sixth-best mark in school history.
It is the second major weekly award for Lopez this year, as he was named CSFL Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20.
He and the Cougars complete the 2025 season at Navy on Saturday. With a win, the Cougars would gain a share of the CSFL South crown.
