GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Senior 2B Courtney Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.), senior 1B Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), senior outfielder Emma Cooney (Livingston, N.J.), and graduate pitchers Madison Burns (East Greenbush, N.Y.) and Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the CSC announced today. All five are now eligible to be voted onto the Academic All-America team, to be announced on June 6.

Grundhauser finished 2023 with six home runs and 28 RBI this season with a slashline of .395/.418/.628. The nursing major also stole nine bases in 10 attempts and hit for the cycle in a win over St. Thomas Aquinas on April 14. Among her honors this year are First-Team All-CACC and All-Tournament and NFCA and D2CCA All-Region.

Rodriguez ranked second on the Cougars in batting at .394 and posted 11 doubles and 29 RBI. She had 263 hits and 12 home runs in her Caldwell career with a .373 cumulative batting average. The Criminal Justice/Psychology/Sociology major was also a Second-Team All-CACC pick this year, three-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete and Second Team NFCA and D2CCA All-Region performer.

Cooney, a two-time CACC All-Academic pick and NFCA Scholar Athlete and 2022 First Team All-CACC selection, led the team in walks (24) and was second in stolen bases (14). The English/Criminal Justice major hit .317 with a .402 on base percentage and added nine doubles.

Burns led the Cougars' vaunted pitching staff in ERA (1.78), ranking second in the CACC in that caregory, and wins (11). The School Counseling major earned Second Team All-CACC honors.

Daly placed fifth in the CACC in ERA at 1.91 with an 8-5 record, two shutouts and two saves. Working on her MBA in Criminal Justice/Psychology, she was a Second Team All-CACC selection in 2022 and finished her Caldwell career with 32 wins, 2.38 ERA and 196 strikeouts.
