NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Freshman 1B Emerson Jarrard (Carlsbad, Calif.) has been named Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Softball Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 5, the league announced today. Sophomore RHP Haleigh Fisher (Smyrna, N.Y) earned Weekly Honor Roll mention.

Jarrard reached base in four of five plate appearances (plus a sacrifice bunt and sac fly) in a Cougars sweep of Post on Tuesday In game one, she squeezed in the first run and drove a single to RF for fifth run in a 5-4 win. Jarrard then contributed a first-inning, two-run double and later produced a run with a sac fly in an 8-0 game 2 triumph.

Fisher spun a five-inning shutout in game two, allowing two hits and one walk, while fanning a career-high seven and permitting just one Post batter to reach second in the contest. Her 2.68 ERA is fourth in the CACC.

The first-place (6-0 CACC) Cougars host second-place Felician on Tuesday at 2:30 in a key twinbill at Caldwell Athletic Field.
