NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Caldwell University sophomore pitcher Haleigh Fisher (Smyrna, N.Y.) has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2026, the league announced today. Fisher, a biology and psychology double major with a 3.89 GPA, is recognized for her performance both on and off the mound.
Fisher, the 2026 CACC Pitcher of the Year, is a three-time CACC Honor Roll (President's Level) member and a Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District pick that has already attained 127 earned credits in two years at Caldwell. She has also performed well on the hill leading the CACC in ERA (2.60) and ranking fourth in strikeouts (75) and innings (118 2/3) in 2026, helping her earn All-CACC First Team honors.
With wins in 10 of her last 13 decisions, the right hander is now 19th in school history in victories with 17. The 2025 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete is also in the record book for her 106 strikeouts, also 19th in school history.
Fisher compiled a 11-5 record and was also the team leader in WHIP and shutouts, helping the Cougars to a regular season conference championship and NCAA East Regional appearance. She was selected to the D2CCA and NFCA All-Region Second Team.
Out of the pitching circle, Fisher has helped coach one of the teams for the Sherburne Area Little League where they won first. She also helped with various clinics hosted by the Sherburne Area Little League and Sherburne-Earlville Central School District along with instructing pitching camps.
Fisher is the fourth Cougar selected to receive the CACC Student-Athlete of the Month award, joining Katie O'Connor (softball, April), Ariana Gaminara (women's soccer, September), and Melvin Evans (men's basketball, February) in being honored during the 2025-26 season. A Caldwell University student-athlete has earned the honor seven times in the past two academic years, most of any CACC institution.
