CALDWELL, N.J.-- Caldwell University sophomore pitcher
Haleigh Fisher (Smyrna, N.Y.) and junior center fielder
Kenzie Nazionale (Ontario, Calif.) have been selected to the Second Team All-East Region by the Division II National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (D2CCA).
Fisher, the CACC Pitcher of the Year and All-CACC First Team member, led the CACC in ERA (2.60) and ranked fourth in strikeouts (75) and innings (118 2/3) and sixth in batting average against (.273). The righthander was the team leader in WHIP and shutouts and had 10 wins in her last 13 decisions. She spun a four-hit shutout vs Holy Family to clinch regular season CACC title and went the distance in win over Post in the CACC Championships 1st round game. Fisher was also named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team.
Nazionale, a First Team All-CACC selection, led the CACC in stolen bases (31) and ranked second in runs scored (42), fourth in triples (5) and 12th in batting average (.359). She is fourth all-time at Caldwell with 60 stolen bases in her career.
The Cougars (29-21) were CACC Regular Season Champions and earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA East 1 Regional.
