Bradley Smith (Parlin, N.J.) was selected as the Collegiate Sprint Football League Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance in the Cougars season opening win on Saturday night. Senior quarterback
Frank DeMaio (Nutley, N.J.) earned weekly honor roll recognition.

Smith helped the Cougars defense limit Mansfield to two offensive touchdowns. He finished the game with five tackles, including two sacks on the day.

DeMaio paced the Cougar offense that finished with 296 yards of total offense. He completed 18-of-25 passed for 181 yards passing and two touchdowns. DeMaio added 42 yards on the ground on 10 rushes.

The Cougars return to action as they travel to Alderson Broaddus University for a cross-division game on Saturday, September 24 at 1 pm.
