KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Caldwell University men's basketball senior
Anthony Cooper (Ashburn, Va.) was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for a second straight year as announced by the organization. Cooper represented the Cougars among over 2,000 players that earned spots on the NABC Honors Court.
In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Cooper led the Cougars in scoring with 19.0 points per game, while adding 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. He finished the season seventh sixth in the conference in scoring and tenth in free throw percentage at 79.0%. In Cooper's 25 games this season, he has scored double-digits in 24 games and netted 20+ points in 13 games, including a career-high 32 points against Bloomfield College in their season finale. He was a Met Basketball Writers Association Division II Second Team honoree and earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Second Team All-Conference recognition this season.
Cooper earned CACC All-Academic Team honors for the second time in his career, recognizing his success in the classroom as a Business Administration major.
