NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The senior tandem of guard
Melvin Evans (Bronx, N.Y.) and forward
DeAngelo Horn (Detroit) have been named to the Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball All-Conference First and Second Team, respectively, the league announced today.
Evans ranks fifth in the CACC in scoring (16.8 ppg), fourth in assists (4.3 apg), third in steals (2.0 spg) and seventh in minutes (32.7). He was twice named CACC Player of the Week and five time earned the league's weekly Honor Roll. He scored a career-high 30 points vs. Jefferson on January 10, and in February became the 25th Cougar to score his 1000th career point. He ranks among the school's all-time leaders in scoring (19th), steals (fourth) and assists (seventh).
Horn earned CACC weekly Honor Roll three times, averaging 15.8 points per game in league contests, seventh best in the circuit. He has notched double-figures in scoring in 17 of the past 18 games, including a season-high 24 points effort to key a win over Bridgeport on February 11. He has a combined 1480 collegiate points including two seasons at Caldwell and two in junior college. Horn was also an All-CACC Second Team selection in 2024-25.
The Cougars are 15-14 after a fourth-place finish in the regular season standings and a 70-54 triumph over No. 5 Post University in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinals at the Newman Center on Tuesday night.
They take on #1 Felician on Saturday at noon in the CACC Tournament Semfinals at the George R. Newman Center. The winner will play in the Finals on Sunday at noon.
