CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University senior outfielder
Tavis Brunson (Westfield, N.J.) earned Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-American Third Team honors.
Brunson shined on the field this for the Cougars, earning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team honors in the outfield and D2CCA and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region First Team recognition. He was a CACC Player of the Week pick one time this season and helped lead the Cougars to the CACC semifinals for the first time since 2008.
Brunson led the Cougars with a .431 batting average, 31 runs, 50 hits, eight doubles, ninth triples, 10 homeruns and 49 RBI. He led the conference in hits, triples, homeruns, RBI, total bases, batting average and slugging percentage. Brunson currently leads Division II nationally in triples per game with 0.30.
