BLOOMFIELD, N.J.- The Caldwell University men's tennis team opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a 7-2 win over Bloomfield College.
The Cougars improve to 2-1 overall and open 1-0 in CACC play. The Bears fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Senior
Maximilian Ziegler (Erfurt, Germany) took the win at #1 singles 6-1, 6-0 as the Cougars won five singles matches. Freshman
Lukas Lemke (Hamelin, Germany) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at #2 singles, while sophomore
James Bojko (Bayville, N.J.) swept #4 singles 6-0, 6-0.
Junior
Yuvraj Bains (Howrah, India) won at #5 singles 6-1, 6-3, while freshman
Ulysses Leon Farr (Sparta, N.J.) took the win at the #6 spot 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles play, Ziegler and Lemke took the win at the #1 spot 8-3. Bains and freshman
Ferdinand Schnitzer (Mossingen, Germany) won their match at #3 doubles 8-0
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, April 1 as they host USciences in a CACC match at noon.
