MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Caldwell University men's tennis team rolled to their first win of the season as they defeated Millersville University 8-1 in non-conference play.
The Cougars improve to 1-1 on the season while Millersville falls to 0-12.
Senior
Maximilian Ziegler (Erfurt, Germany) took the win at #1 singles 6-1, 6-0 as the Cougars swept all six singles matches. Freshman
Lukas Lemke (Hamelin, Germany) picked up the win at #2 singles 6-3, 6-4, while freshman
Ferdinand Schnitzer (Mossingen, Germany) won at #3 singles 6-3, 7-5.
Sophomore
James Bojko (Bayville, N.J.) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at #4 singles, while freshman
Ulysses Leon Farr (Sparta, N.J.) took his match at #5 singles 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 14-12. Junior
Yuvraj Bains (Howrah, India) completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #6 spot.
In double play, Ziegler and Lemke won the at the spot 8-2. Schnitzer and Bojko teamed up at #2 doubles and won their match 8-5.
The Cougars open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Thursday, March 30 as they travel to Bloomfield College.
