OAKDALE, N.Y. – The Caldwell College men's tennis team defeated Dowling College, 6-3 in a non-conference dual Sunday afternoon at St. John's the Baptist High School. With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-4 on the season, while the Lions drop to 0-7.

Caldwell won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. The Cougars' No. 1 doubles tandem of sophomore Andrej Bozovic (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina/St. Joseph) and freshman Maximilian Ziegler (Erfurt, Germany) beat David Lembke and Logan Schiff, 8-4 at first doubles. Junior Christopher Long (Plainfield, NJ/Trinity Christian) and senior Al Navas (Cliffside Park, NJ/Fort Lee) also won their match at second doubles by the score of 8-6, while freshmen Michael Bayawa (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) and Alexis Castellon were victorious at third doubles, 8-3.

In singles play, Ziegler won in straight sets at second singles, while Long and Bayawa both won at third and fifth singles, respectively.

Caldwell hosts Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual on Monday, Apr. 7, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
