CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College men's tennis team blanked Bloomfield College, 9-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Thursday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The victory is the first of the season for the Cougars, who improve to 1-1 overall and in league play.

Caldwell's No. 1 doubles tandem of sophomore Andrej Bozovic (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina/St. Joseph) and freshman Maximilian Ziegler (Erfurt, Germany) defeated Thulani Hove and Morgan Lebeurre, 8-1 at first doubles. Junior Christopher Long (Plainfield, NJ/Trinity Christian) and freshman Hugo Castalan (Rouen, France) also won their match at second doubles by the score of 8-1, while senior Al Navas (Cliffside Park, NJ/Fort Lee) and freshman Alexis Castellon were victorious at third doubles, 9-7.

In singles play, Castalan, Ziegler and freshman Michael Bayawa won in straight sets at first, third and fifth singles, with Long and Castellon winning in pro sets at fourth and sixth singles. At No. 2 singles, Bozovic outlasted Hove in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to complete the sweep.

Caldwell hosts Philadelphia University in another CACC dual on Saturday, Mar. 22, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
