CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College men's tennis team defeated Bloomfield College, 8-1 in a non-conference dual Wednesday afternoon at Brookdale Park. The win gives the Cougars a 2-6 record on the season, while the Deacons fall to 0-8.
Caldwell opened the dual by winning two out of three in doubles play. Freshmen
Juan Arencibia (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) and
Andrej Bozovic (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina/St. Joseph) won their match at No. 1 doubles, while senior
George Mikula (Rockaway Twp., NJ/Morris Knolls) and sophomore
Christopher Long (Plainfield, NJ/Trinity Christian) were victorious at No. 2 doubles. In singles, Bozovic, Long, Arencibia and Mikula won at first, second, third and fifth singles. Junior
Al Navas (Cliffside Park, NJ/Fort Lee) won his match at fourth singles, and sophomore
Cole Downs (Bricktown, NJ/Brick Twp.) won at sixth singles.
The Cougars return to action on Thursday, Apr. 11 with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual with Post University at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts.
