CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's tennis team fell to Bloomfield College, 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Wednesday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. With the loss, the Cougars drop to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play, while the Deacons improve to 2-8, 1-5 CACC.

Bloomfield won two of the three doubles matches, with junior George Mikula (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) and freshman Cole Downs (Bricktown, NJ/Brick Twp.) winning their match at No. 2 doubles for Caldwell. Mikula also was victorious at third singles, defeating Peter Beckford, 6-2, 6-1. Junior Chris Skarbelis (North Andover, MD/Leonardtown) and freshman Steve Petrosino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) also won their matches at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. The turning point in the dual came at No. 2 singles, with Ceran Messam rallying to beat sophomore Al Navas (Cliffside Park, NJ/Fort Lee) in three sets for the deciding point.

The Cougars complete conference play with a CACC dual at the University of the Sciences on Saturday, Apr. 14.
