CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's tennis team won all nine matches to sweep Bloomfield College 9-0 in a dual at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The win pushed the Cougars' record to 2-1 on the season.
The Cougars won three singles matches in straight sets and the other three in best-of-eight pro sets. Senior Chris Costa (Montville, NJ/DePaul Catholic), junior Jan Marco Jiras (Lima, Peru) and sophomore Mike Ober (Lavallette, NJ/Point Beach), pictured, defeated their opponents at first, fifth and sixth singles, respectively, without losing a game. In doubles, Costa combined with senior Chris Laciura (Teaneck, NJ/Paramus Catholic) to blank their opponent 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Next up for Caldwell is a dual at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday, Apr. 14, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
