NEW CASTLE, Del. -- Caldwell University, seeded No. 1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiage Conference (CACC) Softball Championships, will take on No. 5 Wilmington University on Thursday at 11 a.m at Asbury Field in the first game of the four-team, double-elimination tournament.
Caldwell (27-17) advanced with a pair of victories over Post University in the tournament's best-of-three First Round series on Saturday, 10-2 and 9-0.
The Cougars finished 15-3 in league play for their first CACC regular season championship since 2018. The squad features the CACC Pitcher of the Year, sophomore

Caldwell won 26 of their last 32 games, and were ranked No. 1 in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region poll, issued last week.
Should the Cougars win the opening game, they'll play at 11 a.m. on Friday in the winner's bracket vs. the winner of No. 2 Felician vs. #3 Bridgeport. Should Wilmington win the opener, CU would play the loser of the Felician-Bridgeport contest on Thursday at 4 p.m.
