NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Freshman RF Kendall Mazur (Millville, N.J.) has been named Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Softball Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 22, the league announced today.

Additionally, sophomore catcher Emily Kurth (Toms River, N.J.) and junior RHP Katie O'Connor (Charlottesville, Va.) were selected to the Weekly Honor roll for their respective efforts in the Cougars' 4-0 week.

Mazur slashed .538/.571/.692 (1.263 OPS) with hits and RBI in all four games. She had four RBI in the team's Game 1 win over Queens on Thursday to start the week.

Then she drove in game-winning run with s11ingle as part of 2-for-4, 2 RBI game 1 vs. Thomas Jefferson on Sunday. Mazur added two more hits and hit the seventh-inning single that became the game-tying play in the Game 2 walk-off win over the Rams.

Kurth slashed .429/.500/.847 (1.357 OPS) for the Cougars in the four games. Her two-run home run broke a tie in tie in the seventh inning, capping a five-run uprising to give CU the win at Queens... She had three hits, including two two-run doubles, in the 6-5 win over Jefferson (Game 1) Sunday. Her eight RBI ties for team lead and season OPS of .840 tops on team.

O'Connor pitched two complete-game victories, allowing four earned runs in the two contests. She is now 15th all-time at CU in wins (24) and strikeout (142), 14th in innings (276.1).

Caldwell hosts Pace on Tuesday at 2:30 at Caldwell Athletic Field, then returns to CACC play at Chestnut Hill on Thursday.
