Glatfelter Tallies Twice, Spitz Notches Three Assists, Men's Lacrosse Falls in Opener at AIC

Himmel-Maines Stops 13; Knapp, Starr Also tally

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Senior midfielder Zakkery Glatfelter (New Oxford, Pa.) scored two goals and junior attack Michael Spitz (Ringwood, N.J.) notched three assists as Caldwell men's lacrosse fell in its season opener, 13-5 at American International College at Ronald J. Abdow Field.

The Cougars hung tough in the first half, trailing by just 4-3 after goals by junior attack Spencer Knapp (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and Glatfelter, both assisted by Spitz, in the first nine minutes of the second quarter pulled CU to within 4-3. But AIC scored four goals to close the period for a 7-2 halftime advantage.

Senior GK Edwin Himmel-Maines (Delta, Pa.) recorded 13 saves for the Cougars.

Junior midfielder Evan Uriguen (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) tallied with just over 90 seconds left for CU's fifth goal of the afternoon.
