NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Caldwell University softball has been selected fifth in the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced today.

Caldwell, under the tutelage of third-year Head Coach Lindsay Mayer, returns eight position players who played in more than half of last year's contests.

The Cougars finished 24-24 last year, advancing to the CACC Tournament for the 27th straight season.

Caldwell opens the season at East Stroudsburg on March 1 before embarking on a 10-game Florida spring trip the following week.
