NEWARK, N.J. -- The collegiate career of thrower
Christopher Francois (Bloomfield, N.J.) got off to a rousing start on Saturday at the St. Peter's Peacock Relays at the Senator Rice Sports Complex, as the freshman won both the shot put (12.45m) and javelin (37.97m), heaves that qualified him for the CACC Championships. His performance highlighted a day that included two other event wins and four other league qualifying marks in the first meet on the Caldwell men's track and field schedule.
Also taking gold were freshman jumper
Davion Clark (East Orange, N.J.) in the high jump (1.82m, CACC qualifying) and the 4x400 relay team of senior

Sal Panicucci (Totowa, N.J.; shot put, 11.57m, 3rd place) and soph
Kevin Campen (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.; discus, 35.31m, 2nd place) also had CACC qualifying marks.
