Geraldy Volcy (Irvington, N.J.) took second place in the 400m and senior
Andrew Scopel (Green Brook, N.J.) was fifth in javelin, pacing Caldwell men's track & field's efforts at the Ramapo College Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Cougars finished sixth of 25 teams competing at the meet.
Philistin's first-place leap qualified him for the CACC Championships, as did the 13.14m jump by sophomore
James Oluwehuje (Hillside, N.J.) that took fifth in the event.
Volcy ran a season-best 49.44 and Scopel heaved 47.28 for two of CU's scoring efforts. Freshman
Messiah Findley (Linden, N.J.) also scored with an eighth place finish at 400m hurdles (1:01.38), less than a half second off CACC qualifying time.
Three Cougars did post CACC qualifying results, including freshman
Victor Carthell (Bloomfield, N.J.) with a personal-best 16.95 and sophomore Efosa Ogbonmwan (Hillside, N.J.) at 16.97 in the 110 hurdles.
Sophomore
Luke Molyneux (Ocean Township, N.J.) also met the threshold with a 36:29.11 run in the 10K, for a ninth-place finish. Sophomore
Christopher Francois (Bloomfield, N.J.) heaved the discus 39.09m, placing seventh and qualifying for CACC's.
The 4x400 and 4x800 teams both finished fifth.
