LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Senior
Geraldy Volcy (Irvington, N.J.) set a school record and took bronze in the 400 meters and anchored the 4x400 meter relay that smashed a seven-year-old school mark, leading the Caldwell competitors at the CACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Georgian Court University on Friday and Saturday. The Cougars placed eighth of 10 teams in the event.
Volcy went 48.50 to set the mark in the 400, and brought home the 4x4 relay bronze along with junior
Lawton Haynes (Montclair, N.J.), freshman
Messiah Findley (Linden, N.J.) and sophomore
Nick Montiel (Totowa, N.J.) in 3:21.09.
Volcy also earned fourth in the 200 at 22.15.
Senior
Andrew Scopel (Green Brook, N.J.) earned the Cougars' other medal, a silver in the javelin (47.61m) that gained him Second Team All-CACC honors in the event.
