NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Caldwell sophomore second baseman
Stephen Young Jr. (Middlesex, N.J.) has been named to the All-CACC Baseball First Team at second base, the league announced today.
Young batted .300 with a team-best 15 doubles, scoring 17 runs and driving in 23, second best on the Cougars. He was second in the CACC in two baggers and had eight games with two or more hits.
The standout defender split his time between second base and center field, where he filled in admirably for soph
Christian Petino Jr., who missed three weeks with an injury. Young provided stellar play at both positions, starting every game for Caldwell.
The Cougars advanced to the CACC Baseball Championship, falling in the opening round to Felician.
