Andrew Scopel (Green Brook, N.J.) set a school record, tossing the javelin 56.84 meters to finish first, and junior
Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) matched his own school-best mark of 33:09.46 to win the 10,000 meters, helping Caldwell men's track and field finish third overall on Friday at the Misericordia Twilight Meet at the Anderson Outdoor Athletics Complex.
There were medals all around for the Cougars, with senior
Ervin Chaush (Wallington, N.J.) taking first in the discus (34.42m) to lead the way. Soph
Geraldy Volcy (Irvington, N.J.) (53.82 seconds) and junior
Pharrell Mensah (Metuchen, N.J.) (53.88) took two-three in the 400, while senior
Chad Manning (Belleville, N.J.) took silver in the 800 (2:02.63) and senior
Kyle Kuren (Woodland Park, N.J.) matched the feat in the hammer (46.20m)
Other third place finishers were senior
Michael Lehman (Wayne, N.J.) in the shot put (12.35m), soph
Kevin Campen (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) in the discus (33.62m) and freshman
Bryson Brutton (Hamilton, N.J.) in the 200 (24.08).
The Cougars' relays were also strong, taking first in the 4x400 (3:36.40, Brutton, Manning, Mensah, Volcy) and both second and third in the 4x100.

Caldwell next competes at the Silfen Invite on Friday, April 12, in New London Conn., and at the newly-added Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday, April 13, in West Chester, Pa.
