CALDWELL, N.J. -- Caldwell Acrobatics & Tumbling put together is strongest meet of the season, posting a program record point total in a 204.675-160.840 triumph over Buffalo State at the Newman Center on Wednesday. Included were two 9.0+ scores on pyramid heats and seven others of 8.0 or better in an evening full of strong performances.
The compulsory pyramid team, with most of the team on the mat, scored a 9.20, getting the meet off to a strong start for the Cougars (3-1). After a solid Acro event, Caldwell shined brightest in the Pyramid heats, with the Open team of freshman

Nicole Lopez (Kearny, N.J.) pulling a 9.15 to cap a 26.6 total pyramid score, which also featured an 8.8 in the synchronized heat.
On the tumbling passes, the duo of Cardone and soph
Piper Fitzmaurice (Middletown, N.J.) registered an 8.4, Riggio's six-element turn drew an 8.025 and Cardone closed the event with an 8.550 in the open pass.
The Cougars then put it all together for their strongest Team Event to date, with all parts clicking, for a 61.16 that secured the victory.
After the event, Caldwell honored its five seniors: Cardone, Gonzalez, Janice Jackson-McEachin (East Orange, N.J.), Lopez and
Amanda Osmolowski (Butler, N.J.).
Caldwell next visits Kutztown on Tuesday.
