NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Freshman catcher Taylor Quinn (Colonie, N.Y.) was selected the CACC Softball Rookie of the Week and junior shortstop Ashleigh Tavaska (Jackson, N.J.) earned Honor Roll status for the week ending March 17, the conference announced today.

Quinn slashed .375/.444/.469 for the week, including a 3-for-4 game with two runs and two RBI vs. St. Michael's on Wednesday and 3-for-5 with a run and two RBI vs. New Haven on Thursday at THE Spring Games in Florida. She is hitting .381 on the season with nine RBI and five stolen bases.

Tavaska went .441/.459/.824 in the past seven days, blasting home runs vs. St. Michael's as part of a 3-for-5 day and vs. Assumption in Game 2 on Sunday. She is currently fifth in the league in batting at .422.

The Cougars host Post in their CACC opener on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
