STEVENSON, Md.- The Caldwell University acrobatics and tumbling team competed in their inaugural meet against Stevenson University on Sunday afternoon.  The Cougars came up short in the first competition 186.660-113.350 to the Mustangs.
 
In the compulsory events, Caldwell achieved a total of 19.15, garnering an 8.90 in the toss heat. The Cougars moved on to the acro events, finishing with a score of 14.25.
 
The meet advanced to the pyramid events where Caldwell received a score of 18.55 for a cumulative total of 51.95 at the first half break. Stevenson led at halftime 68.30-51.95.
 
The second half started with the toss events where the Cougars achieved a score of 21.60 in the three heats. In the six tumbling events, Caldwell notched an 8.250 in the aerial pass event and finished with a total of 39.800.
 
Freshman Arianna Ardilla (Easton, Pa.) won in the aerial tumbling pass with an 8.250, while freshman Mickennah Lanza (Middletown, N.J.) won the open pass with 8.15.
 
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, March 7 as they host their first-ever home meet against Augustana University at 5 pm.
