LAKEWOOD, N.J.- Caldwell University men's track and field freshman
Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) and freshman
Ethan Edwards (Edison, N.J.) each set school records as the Cougars completed the track events at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship. The field events of the conference championship will be held on Wednesday, May 11 on the Georgian Court campus to complete the conference meet.
Datta took first place in the 10,000-meter run with a school record time of 33:09.45. He also won the 5000-meter event with a time of 15:39.32. Freshman
Alfredo Oidor (Garfield, N.J.) finished in seventh place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:13.78.
Edwards posted a school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.94, taking eighth place. He also posted a sixth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.40.
Junior
Desmond Marfo (Irvington, N.J.) took seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.27.
Both relay teams registered points in the meet as the 4x100-meter relay team of junior
Anthony Gola (Nutley, N.J.), freshman
Rayhan Issah (Dublin, Ireland) sophomore
Curtis Wright (Glassboro, N.J.) and Edwards came in seventh place with a time of 45.90.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Marfo, freshman
Angelo Aguilar (Rahway, N.J.), freshman
Pharrell Mensah (Metuchen, N.J.) and sophomore
Chad Manning (Belleville, N.J.) took fifth place with a time of 3:27.94.
The Cougars currently rank in seventh place with 34 points with the field events still to be held.
The 2022 CACC Track and Field Championships concludes on Wednesday, May 11 with the field events starting at 10:30 am. The schedule for Wednesday is below:
