CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University softball team enters this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship ranked in third place in the final NCAA Division II East Region poll of the season. The Cougars finished in third place in the CACC with a 19-5 record in conference play this season.

Adelphi University holds the top spot for a third straight week in the NCAA Division II Regional poll followed by fellow CACC institution Georgian Court University. The Cougars take third place followed by Wilmington University in fourth and Saint Anselm College in fifth place.

Franklin Pierce University comes in at #6 in the region with the University of Bridgeport and Pace University rounding out the top-eight. St. Thomas Aquinas College and Southern New Hampshire University ranks ninth and tenth respectively in the final poll of the season.

The top-8 teams advance to the NCAA Division II Championship next weekend. The NCAA Division II Softball selection show will be streamed on ncaa.com on Monday, May 9 at 10 am.

The Cougars will compete in the CACC Championship beginning on Thursday, May 5 hosted on the campus of Georgian Court University. The #3 seed Cougars will face #6 Dominican College in the first round on Field #1 at noon.
