Men’s Track and Field Joey Datta Earns CACC Track Rookie of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Caldwell University men's track and field freshman Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Track Rookie of the Year after an outstanding season on the track in his first collegiate season.
 
Datta turned in strong performances in the long-distance events on the track this season. He earned CACC Track Rookie of the Week honors twice, while being named CACC Track of the Week one time.
 
Datta set multiple school records on the track this spring, including at the CACC Championship earlier this month. He broke the school record in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:09.45, taking first place. Datta also won the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:39.32 at the conference championship.
 
Datta also set the school record in the 1500 with a time of 4:15.96 at the Misericordia University Invitational on April 22. He also set the school record in the 3000-meter event with a time of 9:08.76 at the Stockton University Invitational on March 26 and set the school record in the 5000-meter event at the Osprey Open with a time of 15:37.96 on April 9.
