NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Caldwell University sprint football team earned a program record 12 all-conference honors as the Collegiate Sprint Football League announced its post season awards today. Senior running back

Derek Michelman (Newton, N.J.) earned CSFL First Team Offense honors to lead the Cougars award recipients.

Jeremy Colon (Union City, N.J.) was named to the CSFL Second Team Offense, while junior defensive lineman
Michael Lohrmann (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.), sophomore defensive lineman
Messiah Porter (Rutherford, N.J.), freshman linebacker
Andrew Conklin (Long Branch, N.J.), senior linebacker
Anthony Guarino (Tinton Falls, N.J.) and freshman defensive back
Kyle Readus (Paterson, N.J.) earned CSFL Second Team Defense honors. Junior quarterback
Frank DeMaio (Nutley, N.J.) and freshman tight end
Angelo Drake (Manville, N.J.) were selected to the CSFL Honorable Mention Offense, while sophomore defensive back
Brandon Curry (Paterson, N.J.) and sophomore defensive back
Tyquil Anderson (Trenton, N.J.) earned CSFL Honorable Mention Defense recognition.

Watson led the Cougars rushing attack this season with 445 rushing yards with seven touchdowns on the ground. He added six catches for 53 yards and one touchdown. Watson finished his career as the first player to total 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in program history. In the CSFL, he ranked fifth in the league in rushing yards and fifth in rushing touchdowns. Â

Michelman anchored the Cougars offensive line this season, starting all seven games. He was part of the offensive unit that ranked fifth in the CSFL in rushing yards and total offense this season.

Colon led the Caldwell receivers this season with 16 receptions for 346 yards and one touchdown. He finished eighth in the league in receiving yards and 12
th in receiving touchdowns.

Lohrmann played in all seven games for the Cougars on the defensive line. He finished the season 5.6 tackles per game, ranking third on the team and added 5.5 tackles for losses. Lohrmann recorded one sack, one forced fumble and one blocked kick.

Porter was another impact player for the Cougars on its defensive line this season. He posted 1.9 tackles per game in seven games along with two sacks. Porter recovered one fumble and added two pass breakups. Porter and Lohrmann led a Caldwell defensive line that ranked third in the CSFL in rush defense.

Conklin made an immediate impact as a freshman linebacker for the Cougars, finishing second on the team with 5.7 tackles per game, including five for losses. He added 1.5 sacks along with one interception and one blocked kick.

Guarino led the Caldwell defense with 6.3 tackles per game, including 4.5 for losses. He recovered one fumble, tallied one interception and added two pass breakups. Guarino ranked tenth in the CSFL in tackles per game.

Readus played all seven games in the defensive back for the Cougars. He averaged 1.0 tackles per game along with one interception and four pass breakups. Â

DeMaio paced the Cougar offense to a fifth place ranking the CSFL and 309.6 yards per game. He passed for 1,036 yards and eight passing touchdowns. DeMaio rushed 81 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns. He ranked fifth in the CSFL in passing yards, fifth in passing touchdowns and seventh in rushing touchdowns.

Drake was a key player at tight end this season as a receiver and a blocker. He caught two passes for 20 yards and one touchdown this season.

Curry posted 2.7 tackles per game, including two tackles for losses. He added one fumble recovery, one interception and two pass breakups.

Anderson tied for the team lead with two interceptions as a defensive back this season. He added a team-best four pass breakups. Anderson ranked tied for sixth in the CSFL in interceptions.
