Women’s Soccer NCAA Preview: #8 Cougars Face #1 Franklin Pierce in the NCAA East D2 Region Quarterfinals on Friday at 2:00 pm

The #8 Caldwell University women's soccer team travels to the top seed in the East Region in Franklin Pierce University in the NCAA Division II Championship Quarterfinals on Friday, November 9 at 2:00 pm.

Admission fee is $8 adults, $5 for seniors and children and $3 for students with valid ID.
 
Scouting the Cougars (12-6-1, 8-3-1 CACC)
The Cougars enter the NCAA Tournament with a 12-6-1 overall record and posted an 8-3-1 record in conference play. Caldwell won their third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship on Sunday and are making their third trip to the NCAA DII Tournament in the past six seasons. The Cougars are led by CACC First Team All-Conference and Tournament MVP junior Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) who leads the team with 32 points on 14 goals and four assists. She has also tallied six game-winning goals for Caldwell. Senior Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) is second on the team with 21 points on nine goals and three assists. She has added three game-winning tallies. Sophomore Jordan Madrid (Cherry Hill, N.J.) has tallied 13 points on two goals and a team-best nine assists. Freshman keeper Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) has started all 19 games this season in net and has registered 105 saves.
 
Scouting the Ravens (15-1-2, 11-1-2 NE-10)
The Ravens enter Friday's match-up with a 15-1-2 record and finished 11-1-2 in conference play. Franklin Pierce claimed the Northeast-10 Championship with a 3-0 win over Assumption College on Sunday. Veronica Marques leads the Ravens with 38 points on 14 goals and 10 assists, including eight game-winning goals. Nathalia Maria da Silva is contributing 29 points on 13 goals and three assists, while Bruna Tavares is chipping in 21 points on six goals and nine assists. Casey Kane has posted six shutouts this season and recorded a 0.65 goals against average.

The winner of this semifinal match up will advance to the East Region semifinals on Sunday at 2:00 pm. They will face the winner of the #4 Southern New Hampshire University-#5 LIU Post contest.
