Arianna Sullivan made six saves as Caldwell University women's soccer earned a 1-1 draw with Goldey-Beacom College at Caldwell Athletic Field on Friday afternoon.
Marin alertly pounced on the ball as junior midfielder
Suri Silva's (Newark, N.J.) penalty kick attempt was turned aside by GBC goalkeeper Maria Empadinhas, deflecting the loose ball just past Empadinhas's outstretched hands for the 1-0 Cougars lead just over two minutes into the second half.
The margin held until the 88th minute, when Jessica Jensen took a pass back out and drilled it into the left corner of the goal from 18 yards out to earn the point for the Lightning (1-6-1, 1-4-1 CACC).
Sophomore forward
Jules Ballesteros (Union, N.J.) had a team-best four shots for CU (0-8-1, 0-3-1), three of those on goal. Marin took three shots, including the goal, and both Silva and junior forward
Valerie Monge (North Plainfield, N.J.) took two shots.
The Cougars next host Post on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Caldwell Athletic Field.
