CALDWELL, N.J. -- Junior forward
Bella Noble (Staten Island, N.Y.) rolled in her second goal of the season in the 78th minute, but Caldwell University women's soccer couldn't get the equalizer in a 2-1 CACC defeat to Holy Family at Caldwell Athletic Field on Saturday morning.
The Cougars spotted the Tigers a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the game and were battling from behind throughout. Their perseverance paid off when Noble took a long throw in from
Giana Mikula up the left sideline, surged past the defender and placed a shot past the HFU keeper to get CU to within 2-1. The Tigers were up to the task, as CU had shot attempts thereafter, the final one by freshman forward
Mindy Benitez (Paterson, N.J.) thwarted by HFU keeper Jaina Preuhs.
Prior to the game, Caldwell University honored seniors
Yuli Amador (Union, N.J.),
Izzy Marin (South Plainfield, N.J.),
Claudia Penafiel (Bloomfield, N.J.),
Gaby Saune (Hackensack, N.J.) and
Nisrine Taalba (Oujda, Morocco), on Senior Day, the penultimate home game of the season for CU.

Ryleigh Tubbs (Long Beach, Calif.) filling in admirably for 26 first-half minutes, recording four stops.
The Cougars take on Monroe University on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Caldwell Athletic Field.
