RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Sophomore goalkeeper
Arianna Sullivan (New City, N.Y.) recorded four saves and sophomore forward
Jocelyn Downing (Keene, N.H.) recorded a team-best three shots as Caldwell University women's soccer dropped a 1-0 verdict to Felician in a CACC matchup at Tryon Field on Wednesday morning.
After a defensive-minded first half during which the teams combined for just three shots, play opened up a bit in the second. Felician's Brooklyn Niemy put in the game's only goal in the 68th minute.
Caldwell's best chance came in the 48th minute, when junior midfielder
Sophia Llanes's (Bloomfield, N.J.) blast deflected off a Golden Falcons defender and was stopped by goalkeeper Zoe Pite.
Junior forward
Bella Noble had the Cougars' last attempt, a drive from about 12 yards behind the box, straight on, with just over 90 seconds left, was stopped by Pite to preserve the FU win.
The Cougars next visit Dominican on Tuesday in Orangeburg, N.Y.
