ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Junior forward
Xiomara Rivera (Bayonne, N.J.) and junior midfielder
Suri Silva (Newark, N.J.) scored within a 12-minute span in the second half to erase a two-goal deficit, but Caldwell University women's soccer fell, 3-2, on a late goal to Dominican University in a CACC matchup at O'Brien Field on Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing, 2-0, Rivera scored after a scramble in front, putting in the loose ball in the 61st minute to draw the Cougars to within a goal. Then, playing shorthanded after a red card, Silva took a pass from junior forward
Valerie Monge (North Plainfield, N.J.) and deposited the ball into the bottom right side of the net in the 73rd minute to even things up.
DUNY would score the tiebreaker six minutes later and hold on for the win.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Arianna Sullivan (New City, N.Y.) made seven stops for the Cougars.
Caldwell next visits Chestnut Hill on Saturday at noon.
