Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College softball team improved its winning streak to 19 games with a pair of victories over Chestnut Hill College, 10-0 and 8-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The Cougars, who are now 23-4 overall and 12-0 in league play, tied the program's record for the longest winning streak, set in 2004. The Griffins are now 7-15, 4-8 CACC.

Caldwell cruised in the first game, scoring 10 runs in the first four innings while holding Chestnut Hill to two hits. Sophomore Megan Fryday (San Marcos, CA/Mission Hills) hit a three-run blast down the left field line in the third inning, while sophomore Kristen Knorr (Monroeville, NJ/Delsea) and freshmen Brielle Reighn (Runnemeade, NJ/Triton Reg.) and Caitlin McCready (Jupiter, FL/Dwyer) each had two hits in the win. Sophomore pitcher Hanna Walkinshaw (Aptos, CA/Aptos) allowed one hit and a walk while striking out seven in four innings to improve to 4-1. Junior Lindsay Truan (San Jose, CA/Leland) pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

The Cougars took control early in Game 2, scoring five times in the bottom of the first. Reighn and senior Amy Leal (New Bedford, MA/Bishop Stang) both hit RBI triples, and Fryday delivered a two-run single. In the second inning, Reighn made it 6-0 by doubling home Knorr. The Griffins battled back in the top of the fifth inning, scoring four unearned runs, including a two-run single by Megan Kehr. But Reighn extended the lead with another double in the sixth that plated Knorr, and later came home on a single by junior Nicole Velardi (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) for an 8-4 lead.

Sophomore Sarah Almasy (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) went the distance for Caldwell, limiting the Griffins to four runs on six hits in seven innings. She also had a pair of hits, scored and drove in a run. Both Reighn and Fryday had three hits in Game 2.

The Cougars host Holy Family in a CACC doubleheader on Sunday, Apr. 7, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
