In the bottom of the ninth, Concordia put runners on first and second with two out for Nuri Gunes, who singled home Mike Manganiello to tie the score at 7-7 and force extra innings. Nunez hit a two-run single, Morena drove in two runs and junior
Stephen Luczaj (N. Merrick, NY/Mepham) singled in another run to give Caldwell a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. But the Clippers scored five runs in the seventh, including a three-run double by Gonzalez, to lead 6-5.
Luczaj and O'Donnell had two hits apiece, while Morena drove in three runs for Caldwell. Junior pitcher

The teams were supposed to play a doubleheader, but the second game was postponed due to a scheduling problem with the umpires. A make-up date has yet to be determined.
The Cougars host Post University in an important CACC doubleheader on Wednesday, Apr. 24. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Oval.
