CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College baseball team defeated Felician College, 5-3 and 9-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the Kiwanis Oval. The Cougars are now 5-15 overall and 3-3 in the conference, while the Golden Falcons are 10-19, 3-4 CACC.

Andrew Nunez (East Elmhurst, NY/Cardozo) to tie the game at 3-3. A wild pitch allowed Nyitray to come home with the go-ahead run, and junior
Phil Ragusa (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) doubled home O'Donnell.

Dan Bartlett (Levittown, NY/Island Trees), who entered the game in the seventh with the bases loaded, pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Sophomore
Michael Sheridan (Caldwell, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) started and allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits while striking out nine and walking four in 6 2/3 innings.
The Cougars fell behind again in Game 2 after Aaron Brill singled home Jonathan Arche in the top of the third. O'Donnell responded for Caldwell with a two-run double in the fifth, then junior
Stephen Luczaj (N. Merrick, NY/Mepham) came home on a throwing error in the sixth for a 3-1 lead. This time Felician came back, scoring twice in the seventh to tie the score at 3-3. But in the bottom of the seventh, junior
Thomas Pisano (N. Bellmore, NY/Mepham) delivered a two-run single to put the Cougars ahead to stay. Pisano also hit a two-run double as part of a four-run eighth inning for Caldwell.
Junior right-hander
Chris DeRogatis (North Arlington, NJ/Queen of Peace) went the distance, allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits while walking three and striking out eight.
Caldwell faces St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference meeting on Wednesday, Apr. 3, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Sparkill, N.Y.
