ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Caldwell College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Tuesday afternoon at the Orangetown Soccer Complex. With the loss, the Cougars are now 0-4-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Warriors improve to 4-2, 3-0 CACC.
After a scoreless first half, Nyack broke through with a goal in the 48th minute by Marco Likos. Later in the second half, Likos set up an insurance goal by Ben Kwast in the 67th minute to put the Warriors on top, 2-0. Jodel Wright kept the Cougars off the scoreboard, making three saves for the shutout.
Freshman goalkeeper Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) registered six saves in goal for Caldwell, as Nyack held a 24-5 advantage in shots.
Caldwell hosts East Stroudsburg University on Thursday, Sept. 20 in a non-conference game at 4:00 p.m.
