Cougars Play Man Down for Final 70 Minutes, Second Half Goal Boosts Firebirds

CALDWELL, N.J. -- Caldwell University men's soccer hung tough despite a first-half red card forcing the squad to play man-down for the final 70 minutes in a 1-0 defeat to the University of the District of Columbia at Caldwell Athletic Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (2-2) kept right with the Firebirds (3-1-1) despite the man disadvantage, finally ceding a goal in the 67th minute.

Sophomore Diogo da Silva (Newark, N.J.) made two stops in goal for Caldwell. 

CU visits Adelphi in a non-league matchup on Long Island on Tuesday, then opens CACC play vs. Goldey-Beacom at Caldwell Athletic Field on Sept. 19.
