KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Caldwell College softball team fell to Adelphi University, 3-0 in the team's first game Wednesday morning at Oren Brown Park. The Cougars beat Edinboro University, 4-2 later in the day to complete their Florida trip with a 7-2 record.
In the day's first game, Adelphi (6-3-1) scored a run in the second inning and two more in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Caldwell had seven runners in scoring position for the game, but was unable to get the key hit off Adelphi starter Devon Kelly, who allowed five hits and no runs in seven innings. Junior Kourtney Wilson (Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) suffered her first loss of the season, giving up three runs on eight hits while striking out six in six innings. Freshman Kristen Knorr (Monroeville, NJ/Delsea) led the offense with two hits.
