Caldwell immediately took control of the game with six runs on five hits and an error in the first inning. Sophomore Marisa Tamez (Fountain Valley, CA/Fountain Valley), junior Annie Forte (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and senior Brittni Frantellizzi (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) each drove in runs. Three more runs came home on a dropped fly ball with the bases loaded. In the second inning, the Cougars plated three more runs on an error, an RBI single from Tamez and a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Katie Margiotta (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.). In the third, freshman Dia Cascone (Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner), freshman Cassandra Cefolo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Forte had RBIs to make the score 12-0.

Frantellizzi, Tamez and senior Danielle Genovese (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) each went 2-for-2, while Forte also had two hits to pace the offense. Caldwell pitchers did the rest, holding Felician to five hits, no walks and no runs. Junior Brittany Puildo (Ojai, CA/Nordhoff) started and gave up two hits in three innings to earn the victory and improve to 9-1. Freshman Kelly Schymanski (Pottstown, PA/Owen Roberts) tossed two innings of relief and allowed three hits. Felician's Tiffany Deeubol had two of the Golden Falcons' five hits.

The Cougars started Game 2 with a run off an error in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead. Then in the fourth, Cefolo (pictured) hit a two-out triple to score sophomore Rebecca Ashley (Bellingham, MA/Mt. St. Charles Acad.), and came home on a single by freshman Sierra Parker (Chino Hills, CA/Chino Hills) for a 3-0 advantage. That's all freshman pitcher Kourtney Wilson (Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) would need, as she limited the Golden Falcons to just two hits while striking out four and walking one in a complete-game effort. It was the first career shutout for Wilson (6-4), who also had a hit in the fourth inning. Kristina Jimenez kept the game close for Felician, allowing three runs, two earned, on 10 hits to absorb the loss.

At the plate, senior Kyrie Timbrook (Los Gatos, CA/Los Gatos) went 2-for-2, with Parker and Schymanski also delivering two hits apiece. Caldwell finished with 23 hits on the day while allowing seven hits in the two wins.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 7 with a CACC doubleheader against Concordia College at Caldwell Field. The first game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
