COUGAR MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES AT FELICIAN

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's basketball team was handed an 80-52 defeat at Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest at Job Gymnasium Thursday night. The result extends the Cougars' losing skid to four games and drops their record to 3-17 overall and 2-10 in the CACC. The Golden Falcons are now 15-5, 8-3 CACC.

Caldwell got off to a fast start, making 8-of-14 from the field over the first eight minutes, 44 seconds en route to a 19-10 lead. Junior guard Antonio Brimley (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Eastside) scored seven points and junior guard Dante Rollins (East Orange, NJ/Bloomfield Tech), pictured, hit two threes in the run. The lead was eight points, 25-17 with 8:17 on the clock when Felician reeled off 15 straight points to key a 22-3 run that put the Golden Falcons on top 39-28 at halftime. Ethan Kennedy came off the bench and scored 12 points in the run that gave Felician control of the game.

Momentum stayed with the Golden Falcons into the second half, as the lead grew to as many as 33 points. The Golden Falcons shot 53.7 percent from the field for the game, including 61.5 percent in the first half, and dished out 19 assists while forcing 17 Caldwell turnovers. The Cougars, who made 50.0 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half, finished the game at 37.7 percent following an 8-of-29 performance in the second half.

Sophomore center Peter Diffley (Bellerose, NY/Episcopal) led Caldwell with 15 points and a career-best 10 rebounds. Antoine Obery scored 23 points and was 10-of-12 from the floor for Felician, while Kennedy finished with 18 points.

Caldwell is scheduled to host Philadelphia University on Sunday, Feb. 7 in a CACC contest. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
