box score
CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's basketball team lost its first home game of the season, dropping a non-conference game to East Stroudsburg University, 72-58 Tuesday evening at the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars are now 0-4 on the season, while the Warriors remain unbeaten at 3-0.

East Stroudsburg led for most of the first half, eventually building a 24-18 lead with 8:33 left in the half. A three-pointer by junior guard Jean Georges (Vauxhal, NJ/Spotswood) and a pair of free throws from sophomore forward B.J. Suchy (Ronkonkoma, NY/Our Savior) pulled the Cougars to within one with 6:07 on the clock. But the Warriors, buoyed by three-pointers from Sky Quinones-Williams and Danny Hargrove, had the lead up to 10 before Georges' basket at the buzzer made it 38-30 at the break.

The Cougars opened the second half with a lay-up by sophomore forward Manny Perez (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor) off of a steal by sophomore guard Adam Sabree (Detroit, MI/Renaissance) to cut the lead to 38-32. But the Warriors answered with a 12-4 run to take a 50-36 lead with 14:27 remaining. The lead would grow to as many as 20 points, as the Cougars shot just 37.5 percent from the field in the second half.

Perez finished with a game-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds while hitting 8-of-12 from the floor. Georges recorded 17 points, three assists and three steals for Caldwell. The Warriors were led by Channon Easley's 17 points and eight boards, while Hargrove scored 16 points in the victory.

The Cougars return to action on Sunday, Nov. 27, when they host Dowling College in a non-conference game. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at the George R. Newman Center.
