NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Junior guards
Brooke Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) and
Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) have been named to the 2025-26 CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league announced today. It is the second time that each has been honored.
Corbett, a Secondary Education and Mathematics major with a 3.82 GPA through Fall 2025, averaged 4.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and a league-best 2.8 steals per contest for the Cougars in 2025-26, becoming the eighth Cougar to surpass the 200 steals mark. She was the 2024-25 CACC Defensive Player of the Year and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District performer.
Lewis, a Criminal Justice major with a 3.68 GPA, was also a Second Team All-CACC selection, her third season earning all-league accolades. She averaged 15.7 ppg, (sixth best in the CACC), 3.2 assists (eighth) and 2.0 steals (12th). She became the 23rd Cougar to eclipse the 1000 point mark and now ranks 13th all-time with 1464 heading into her senior season.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution, prior to Spring 2025; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
Caldwell (21-7) won its most games since the 2017-18 season, reaching the CACC tournament semifinals.
