NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Caldwell University head coach
Ken Yokobosky has been named Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Bowling Coach of the Year and junior
Alex Sardis (Milltown, N.J.) has been selected to the All-CACC First Team, the league announced today.
Yokobosky led the Cougars to a 39-21 regular season record, the highest winning percentage (.650) in the program's 12-year history. The Cougars finished 15-5 in CACC Invitational play, earning the second seed in this weekend's CACC Bowling Championships at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pa.Â
It marks the second CACC Coach of the Year honor for Yokobosky, who was also the selection in 2022-23 when the Cougars went on to win the inaugural league championship, the first of their two straight titles. Additionally, Yokobosky was selected East Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2021-22 when the Cougars were an associate member of that league in bowling.
Sardis earned her second straight All-CACC honor after placing on the Second Team last year. This season, Sardis has been a model of consistency in both traditional and Baker format. She has recorded a team-best 19.12 frame average in Baker play, serving mostly as anchor bowler, and 18.18 average in traditional play. A CACC All-Academic team, CSC Academic All-District and two-time FAR Award of Distinction level CACC Academic Honor Roll member, Sardis was named CACC Bowler of the Week for the week ending Nov. 2 and twice was named to the weekly Honor Roll for her performance on the lanes.
She has recorded a 37.4% strike percentage, 64.1% all spare conversion and team-high 83.6% on single pin spares.
Caldwell will be seeking its third CACC Championship in the league's four years sponsoring the sport of bowling, beginning with a semifinal matchup with No. 3 . Fans can follow the action on the Caldwell YouTube page (Caldwell's lanes) or the CACC Network broadcasts of every match in the double-elimination format.
